Status[?]: passed

Voting deadline: January 3514
Description[?]:
Mr. Speaker, we believe that the environment is something to be treasured and protected, and that it is the shared property of the Dranish people. We do not believe that it should be left to the whims of private corporations. While, unlike extremists, we do not seek to vilify private corporations and the wealthy, it must be recognised that sometimes, their actions are not always in the national interest. Yes, there will be economic consequences of environmental protection, but reckless short-termism, focused on current production and consumption, may, in the long term, lead to a decline in living standards. Yuko Asukai MP DPP Parliamentary Leader |

Message | Mr Speaker, we do not believed in shared property, it leads to a perpetuation of conflict of interests. With privatized lands, we do not have this problem, and we also wish to point out that the owners of private land will take action against pollution rather than in a system of collective ownership, because their own assets are directly affected. Environmental protection and the absence of government regulation is not as contradictory as it may seem. Alissa Evenstad MP Member for Elbian RFR Parliamentary Leader |

Message | Mr Speaker, We support this bill which takes a reasonable stand on guarding the treasures that we are the only ones of Boh's creatures who can both properly steward and destroy them. Unfortunately the HAC feels it can't just take Ms. Evenstad's solemn guarantee on behalf of landowners and prefers that we actually do something to ensure that this guarantee she makes will be kept. We would have preferred that these responsibilities be conferred to local government institutions. Dolores Evans HAC Vice Charman |

Message | Mr. Speaker, I applaud MP Asukai and call for Parliament to take the first few steps towards properly protecting our environmental heritage from profit-obsessed corporations and the dangerous lack of regulation on industrial waste and pollution. Message | Mr. Speaker, the Hon. Member from Elbian seems unfamiliar with the concept of externalities, which may arise as a result of private ownership, whether intentionally or not. We feel that putting the government in charge of protecting the environment better takes into account these factors, which ought not be neglected. Yuko Asukai MP DPP Parliamentary Leader |

Random fact: Players consent to the reasonable and predictable consequences of the role-play they consent to. For example, players who role-play their characters as committing criminal offences should expect those characters to experience the predictable judicial consequences of that. |
