Description[?]:
Mr. Speaker, we believe that the government has a role in providing certain services, among them post, transport, and public works. It is unacceptable that the governmnent is allowing the poor not to enjoy access to these services, which they, regardless of their wealth or lack thereof, ought to be able to access. It is only in such a way that we can take steps to create a more equitable society. Yuko Asukai MP DPP Parliamentary Leader |

Message | Mr Speaker, co-existence of private and public services distorts the market, because governmental companies, regardless of how inefficient and wasteful they are, will not be removed from the marketplace since government has unlimited access to taxpayer money if it wants to. The market is more effective in lowering the prices for goods and services in a way that makes them affordable to all. Eric Pickering MP Member for Loren RFR Infrastructure Spokesman |

Message | Mr. Speaker, as much as that may seem ideologically coherent, the facts on the ground are that the prices of certain necessary services are unnecessarily high. We are comfortable with distorting the market if the market does not serve the needs of all, not just the privileged. Yuko Asukai MP DPP Parliamentary Leader |
