| In the Godly nation we are trying to build, every single Deltarian soldier should be a faithful member of the One, True, and Holy Terran Patriarchal Church. An army blessed by Boh is guaranteed to be invincible in the field. The private standing armies of the nobles are a potential threat to stability and must be disbanded. On another matter, women should have absolutely no role in the military. It is true that many great female heroes have fought for us in battle in the past, such as Ivanka Kováčová and the Sisters of St. Morena, but the time has now come to move on from that. It is not in the proper nature of things for women to fight. | Message | OOC: Yes, I suspect some of the nobles would be fed up with Martinek by now - especially after the ban on paramilitaries. But on the other hand, I suspect quite a few of the nobles would be more sympathetic to Martinek - or at least think he is better than any of the likely alternatives. He did, after all, stuff their mouths with gold in order to appease them over the banning of private armies. And however much they distrust him, his government is a bulwark that could protect them against the overweening ambitions of the Czar... |
