Bill: An Act to Prevent Unnecessary Abortions II

Details

Submitted by[?]: Benevolent Totalitarian Party - FLF

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 2051

Description[?]:

While it seems the pro-life parties just don't have enough votes to ban abortion altogether, we would like to at least impose further restrictions on unnecessary terminations of pregnancy. We count on the support of every party who believes abortions should only be allowed when there is a good medical reason for them. We also count on the support of those parties who wish to ban abortion entirely - this bill does not achieve that, but it is a step in the right direction.

MessageThank you for attempting to broker a compromise here. I am pleased that the BTP is willing to try and make this government work by putting the public interest ahead of narrow partisan squabbles.

MessageYou're welcome. While the BTP has high ideals, we also know how to be pragmatic when we do not have enough seats in the Board to get anything done on our own.

MessageI do not agree mainly because this is basically outlawing abortions, which restrictes personal freedoms, which our party strongly agrees we must have more of!

MessageAbortions should be illegal. This is because they still take a human life out of existence, not to mention mutilation.

MessageCRIP, abortions SHOULD be illegal, but they AREN'T. Thousands of babies are being killed as we speak. We don't have enough support in the Board to outlaw abortion altogether, so why won't you at least help us to limit it and save countless lives in the process?

MessageThis isn't the BTP compromising. The BTP has already stated that he supports abortions in medical emergencies.

MessageThat was some time ago, and we've changed our views since then. You might have noticed that we supported the CRIP's call to make all abortions illegal.

MessageI have also noticed that it won't get passed and that you can safely do that, whilst hoping to get this bill passed.

MessageShame on the CRIP. They pretend to care about abortion, but refuse to do anything to effectively ban them. What a bunch of hypocrites!

Random fact: Players who consent to a particular role-play by acknowledging it in their own role-play cannot then disown it or withdraw their consent from it. For example, if player A role-plays the assassination of player B's character, and player B then acknowledges the assassination in a news post, but then backtracks and insists the assassination did not happen, then he will be required under the rules to accept the validity of the assassination role-play.
