Details

Submitted by[?]: Democratic Progressive Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 3518

Description[?]:

Mr. Speaker, we believe that various forms of slander and hate speech, which can be hugely damaging to personal reputations or even to public order, should not be tolerated. There may be those who contend that this violates the freedom of speech, but we contend that there is no freedom to abuse speech.

MessageMr Speaker

We support articles 1 and 3 but 2 is unacceptable. Hate speech is disgusting but it should be allowed. We believed that there has to be something done for publishing proven falsehoods.
