Message | Mr. Speaker, Under this proposed law, the government would allow candidates that run for President to receive public funds. Marta Wilson UPR Congressional Leader OOC: It'd be like the US which allows candidates in primary and general elections for President to receive public funds. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campaign_finance_in_the_United_States |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We are worried about the selection criteria. It is entirely possible for a government to abuse its power by denying funds to opposition candidates. What steps will to be taken to prevent this from happening? The present law works well enough. - Amelia Granger, Party Leader |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We think that any criteria wouldn't be better than the current one, where every party gets the same public funding, and so the same chances. Johnny Hidaka, DU internal affairs manager |

Message | Mr. Speaker, The Federal Elections Board (FEB), an agency under the Ministry of Internal Affairs that deals with elections in Rutania will be the people which decides the criteria for who gets funding. We can almost certainly say that there will not be any bias in the selection process. Furthermore, all candidates running for president would receive the same amount of money, with the ability to still accept donations, albeit to a certain amount. Private funding would still be allowed, but there would be a cap since they are taking public funds. Marta Wilson UPR Congressional Leader |

Message | Mr. Speaker, That sounds very much like the law we have at present. Amelia Granger - SS Ldr. |
