MessageMr. Speaker,

We refuse to form a government with a party that is overthrowing the monarchy. This is treason.

I yield.

OOC: I have made it simple, it is unrealistic that the military betray the emperor (their idol for the past 3,000 years) and you are destroying the cornerstone of the country's culture by removing the monarchy. Overthrew the government is fine and realistic. Considering how the progressives have ruined the economy, put us in massive debt, defunded the military, and brought chaos to the country. That is something the Military would overthrow in the of the emperor.

So if you want me to even begin to consider this you have to reverse course and retcon some of your actions. For they are unrealistic and quite frankly not Luthorian. Not saying this because I "represent the emperor," but because I have played in this nation for years and I have protected her culture and her history for almost all of them. There is no one to help me anymore, so by do what you are doing you are killing one of the greatest and richest cultured and rped nations in the game in a manner that is not even realistic or fun. One thing if this had been building up for a decade or two, but an overnight change with everyone loving the emperor one day to hating him the next is not.

Sorry, if it sounds like I am being a "cry baby," but really this nation is one of a kind and the bastion of monarchism for the game. To lose that over some "stupid" military dictatorship or future republic is just a massive disadvantage to the game and the history of this nation's great culture.

Please stop godmodding. The Progressives put the country into a surplus, not into debt.

Yeah, the Progressives' defunding of the military is a reasonable justification as to why the military went all uppity. (Incidentally, Wellcrum, you can have deputy minister positions in the defense, internal affairs, and foreign affairs ministries so as to explain as to how you have control of some of the troops.) Perhaps they are mad at the king, because they thought that the king should have tried to stop the Progressives?

Also, we can assume that my party has been stealthily promoting republican views (among other things) during our time in control of the Education ministry, and before that through informal propaganda efforts aimed at professors and teachers, funded by the Alliance of Terran Republics along with the occasionally dominant Luthori Republic Movement.

I for one intend to restore the monarchy once this storyline is over, but lets have some creative fun while the storyline is ongoing. Luthori has been a monarchy for a long time. Lets see what else it can be for a while, while still remaining true to its culture and history.

One is not Godmodding it is being realistic because things cost money and the expenses in this equal whatever you put in spending not what they actually are. Thus you put us in debt for the equipment and numbers our military has is what I set the budget to. Just because you don't like that does not make it Godmodding it makes it realistic. You could have Rped a reduction, and could have even RPed a sequestration instead you have choosen to go unrealistic and cut the budget to an unreasonable amount.

However, that is all besides the point since I would have been willing to RP all of this, if it had been built up over time like it really would have had to. Instead it happens over one night. I am sorry but it is complete and total bullshit. Both you know it, because I know both of you are far from being noobs at this. One is a multi, though I can't prove it, and the other has been here long enough to know how to properly RP something.

Luthori's Cultural Protocols even spell out it is a monarchy. This entire things is unrealistic and you both know so. But go ahead ruin it all, because I am tired of trying to pick up the pieces after people do this time and time again to return it to normal.

The only time this has been made fun was years go when the tension was Rped well in advance and built up to a revolution instead of this it just happens out of nothing non-sense.

I love to RP and I am normally a nice guy, but I will always be as viscous in my defense of this nation as long as I am here. I will not have her ruined because people think it is fun to mess up the bastion of monarchy in Terra, since she is one of the few constantly active monarchies and is rped as powerhouse because she is so stable.

Sorry for asking it to be realistic, but I have spent so much time defending her, that I will not just be quite and let her fall to this non-sense.

I've said multiple times though that when the Progressives were in power we cut the military and military spending. Money doesn't get spent when its not being spent. There might be an implicit depreciation cost as material wears out, but that does not lead to debt because no money is being spent. Moreover, I've also noted how the level of GDP I set military spending to is based upon real world examples. Thus it is realistic.

I don't know about the other republicans, but I for one intended to have a much slower build to this part of the plotline until you started your godmodding with the military budget. I have stated elsewhere what the foundation for this move was however, and I disagree that it wasn't a good IC justification.
