Message | Mr. Speaker, We understand that early elections are being called for due to the sudden resignation of one of the parties in this parliament. Typically, we would support such action, even though we are part of the Government. However, there are a very large number of bills being voted upon at this moment -- more than 40. We suggest that new elections not be called at this time. It is in the best interest of the voters of Rutania to know how the parties will vote on these bills, so they can make an informed decision at the polls. These bills were proposed before the need for early elections were known; we feel comfortable rendering any vote on newly proposed bills moot, so that we can have early elections. At the earliest, we would support new elections after April 3534, when the bills in question are set to come to a final vote. -Ron Silvermage, NPU spokesman |
