Message | We agree to a certain point. This must not cost the freedom of speech on political subjects. |
Date | 23:00:46, December 20, 2005 CET | From | We Say So! Party | To | Debating the Media Hate Act |
Message | It only effects freedom on political subjects if the media produces obvious lies, if they are merely stating a position then they have nothing to fear. |

Message | hate speeches can include political opinion. we would like to know whether the HPP will be banned for questioning our loose immigration policy? |

Message | @HPP: Such legislation could be abused that way. We can't support. |
Date | 23:28:53, December 20, 2005 CET | From | We Say So! Party | To | Debating the Media Hate Act |
Message | Why would regulation against hate speech stop the HPP from stating they would like to limit immigration. As long as they don't print something along the lines of "those darkies steal our jobs" they would not be adversly affected. We would also point out that this does not stop freedom of speech, but stops the media from printing things which could lead to violence, two very different things. |
Date | 00:01:12, December 21, 2005 CET | From | Hobrazian Peoples Party | To | Debating the Media Hate Act |
Message | It will not only stop media, it will also stop organisations, religions, political parties, private persons etc.. We agree that this bill will sober the tone, but we are not sure on the scope on political statements! |
Date | 00:08:47, December 21, 2005 CET | From | We Say So! Party | To | Debating the Media Hate Act |
Message | It will only stop the media as the law is entitled " The government's policy regarding regulation of media content" not "The governments policy regarding indvidual freedom of speech". Political statements that are untrue or inciting people to hate would not be allowed. Political statements that put across a valid statement or aim would not be. |

Message | I can't support. One thing it's hard to classify "hate speech", and legislating what can or cannot be written or said is a violation of free speech. People have a right to express thought and any attempt to stop this expression should be prevented. |
