Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The lyrics of the national anthem.
Old value:: I've been here since Torah's time, I've kept Torah everyday I am the ancient heart, the keeper of the flame. I stood upon the rocky shore, I watched the tall ships come. For many many years I've been the first Beiteyian. CHORUS: We are one, but we are many And from all the lands on earth we come We share a dream and sing with one voice: I am, you are, we are Beiteyian I came upon the Zionist ships, running from the iron chains. I learned the land, farmed in my patch and waited for the rains. I was a refugee, now a farmer's wife on a free land A runaway then a free man, I became Beiteyian. CHORUS I'm the daughter of the invader who sought the mother lode The girl became a woman on the long and dusty road I'm a child of the destruction then I saw the good times come I was a Luthori, now I love, I am Beiteyian CHORUS I'm a teller of the Gospel, I'm a witness to Christ I am the churchgoer, I paint the lord on our dome' I am Mosque seeker on his horse, to beleive in Mohamed and find home. I'm the one who chose to come cause I'm Beiteyian CHORUS There are no words of comfort that can hope to ease the pain Of losing homes and loved ones the memories will remain Within the silent tears you’ll find the strength to carry on You’re not alone, we are with you. We are Beiteyian! CHORUS There are so many heroes whose stories must be told They fought the raging fires of hell and saved so many souls From the ashes of despair our towns will rise again! We mourn your loss, we will rebuild. We are Beiteyian! CHORUS
Current:
"Hatikvah" As long inside our hearts A Jewish soul still yearns, And onward toward the East, We have not lost hope yet, The hope is two thousand years old, To be a free people in our land, The land of Tzion and Yishelem
Proposed:
Eternally lives in our hearts, the loyal faith [Haemunah] to return to our holy land, the city where Elior settled. There we shall stand [to receive] our destiny, [which the] father of many [nations] acquired, there we shall live our life the life of the innumerable community. There we shall serve our Elyon with joy, happiness and song there we shall pilgrimage three times a year. Katub of life is our desire, given from heavenly mouth forever it is our heritage from the desert it was given. |

Message | OOC: I get the feeling that in Beiteynu, religion, culture and national identity are all closely entwined. This anthem is about how Yeudism began, but it is also about the story of how (according to traditional beliefs, at least) the nation of Beiteynu was founded. So I think even many of the more secular-minded Beiteynuese and Yeudis would appreciate this anthem. |
