Message | no mixed message. I believe that nothing should be government run, and nothign should be supported financially that cannot survive as a private enterprise. That goes for television, media, museums, historical parks, etc. |

Message | Yea I gave a long laundry list of reasons that all media should be private. Most notably is that they either become political propaganda centers for the government, and also, EVERYTHING no matter how "unbiased" they claim, is biased. By making everything private, the government can remain detached from political opinion, and the media is ensured a place as a government watchdog, rather than just a propaganda center. Not including the fact that PBS is the crappiest station ever, and only survives through donations, the way it should. (with the exception of Sesame Street, the greatest show ever. The count is my idol... ALL HE DOES IS COUNTS!!! he is so smart.) |

Message | You say a public radio becomes propaganda...but if there are lots of privates and free radio the freedom of speech is granted. Instead, having all station private may exclude all the arguments that doesnt "bring in" money... Lots of point of view are always better. |

Message | I disagree. If there is a market for a certain point of view, then private stations will use that to their benefit. Look at the Golf channel. Who the hell watches that?!? however, they obviously have a market that needs to be reached. My beef isnt with the good that public stations perform. My beef is with stations like Telesur and Al JAzeera. Both government owned and run, and both are horrible communist propaganda stations. I actually do not mind having those stations, AS LONG AS THEY ARE PRIVATE. If there were NO market for Private television. And if the only station existing had to be government funded, just for informational purposes I would support it. Kinda like the internet. There was no private market for the internet, so the government funded the research and brought it into existence. However that isnt the case here. the government has no place stating political ideologies and wasting money providing public television when there is no need.. |
