| Message | ''Madam Speaker, I commend this budget to the floor. In line with our election pledges, the Republican Party will champion a fiscally responsible budget for the duration of this Parliament. In order to pay for our proposed corporation and sales tax cuts we are recommending efficiency savings across the board. We have ring fenced defence spending - our national defense will receive a blank cheque so long as we are in office. We have ringfenced education spending on the basis of a tentative agreement for a pilot school voucher programme which shall be brought to the floor for consideration in the coming weeks. We shall make the necessary difficult decisions now to get our economy back on track. I yield the balance of my time'' - Beau Bishop, Secretary of Finance |
