Bill: Aggressive Job Growth & Investment Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Capitalist Working Families

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill proposes to change income taxes. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 3552

Description[?]:

Dear Distinguished Members of the Parliament:

First and foremost, please *note* that the Capitalist Working Families Party received the *largest* gain of seats than *any* other party in this body at an unbelievable *56* seats, or *9.22%*. Therefore, this means that our Party's message of tax cuts and lower spending to encourage private-sector investment spending is resonating with the People of Rutania:

cf. http://classic.particracy.net/viewnews.php?after=18600&before=18612&nation=6

Thus, we are simply proposing an even more *aggressive* tax cut for the People in the business and investment community by installing a Flat Tax of only *15%* for all incomes above 4,000 RUT in order to further job growth and investment. As a direct result of the recent budget proposal, we have amassed a *budget surplus* of nearly 18,036,000,000 RUT so we can afford this further aggressive reduction in marginal tax rates:

(1) (a) As of the current State of the Economy, our *Investment Component* of Rutania's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) as a direct result of the *59%* reduction in discretionary Government Spending has actually *improved* from the measly "12.27%" beforehand to *13.79%*, or a 1.52 percentage points. Unfortunately, though, the people are still financially struggling to find employment and credit opportunities so it must go further:

cf. http://classic.particracy.net/budget.php?nationid=6

(b) Economists in the Commonwealth of Rutania are *uniformly* in agreement that when the Government increases spending, it *crowds-out* Private-sector *investment* which will create high-paying *jobs* for the Rutanian People.

cf. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crowding_out_(economics)

(c) For example, allow us to explain this situation using a simple analogy: if there is a total of 10 RUT in the entire economy, and 7 RUT is driven by Consumption with Government spending amounting to an astronomical 2 RUT, then that means that the Private-Sector *only* has 1 RUT to spend on *Job Growth* and *Investment*.

(d) Therefore, we are simply proposing that if we were to *further* reduce the size of the Government portion of GDP from ~38,700,000,000 to about 24,000,000,000, that will naturally *increase* the *Investment* component of GDP in the Private-sector further while still maintaining a *budget surplus*.

(2) When politicians campaign for office, all they ever do is "promise" to "create jobs" for the people, but they *never* give a detailed plan on *how* to create those jobs in the private sector. The *truth* is if we *radically* and *aggressively* lower marginal tax rates coupled with sharp reductions in Government spending, it will increase the *Investment* component of Rutania's GDP. Let's just give it a try.

Random fact: It is not allowed to call more than 5 elections in 5 game years in a nation. The default sanction for a player persisting in the early election tactic will be a seat reset.
