Description[?]:
Here are some of our current policies: National Military Policy: "The government retains a part time, professional army, navy and air force in alignment with paramilitary groups." http://classic.particracy.net/viewvariable.php?variable=NATIONAL_MILITARY_POLICY National Police Department: "The government competitively subcontracts security management to private security firms." http://classic.particracy.net/viewvariable.php?variable=POLICE The nation's policy on the separation of the police and the military: "The military acts as a de-facto police force, with powers of arrest." http://classic.particracy.net/viewvariable.php?variable=MILITARY_POLICE -- It is time to legalise paramilitaries, while keeping them subordinate to the government. Professional militaries are expected to abide by certain "norms" set by snobs in suits who know nothing about peace or war. These snobs sit in their offices, sometimes writing up some papers or giving meaningless speeches on television, while not being affected by their decisions and ideas. Some of them don't even know what guns look like. Our soldiers aren't chess pieces who can only move as permitted by world standards. It's better to leave certain operations up to paramilitaries, so our government can't take the blame when something goes wrong. The best paramilitary will get the best government contracts, so all the paramilitaries will compete to prove themselves worthy of owning government contracts, and we all know how competition brings efficiency. A professional army will have no-one to compete with, and will slack off, doing nothing but sucking up government funds. Lets maintain a part-time professional army so we have extra backup in times of war, and for the sake of ceremonies because marching is cute. Aside from all that, let's leave our real dirty work to paramilitaries. The current laws (as discussed above) are in place for that, but we need to legalise paramilitaries for them to fulfil their roles properly. Right now, they're limited to being private security firms, so they can do police work as private armed groups, but they can't do actual military work. Let's change this. |
