MessageWe propose, as a compromise:

10,000 - 25%
20,000 - 40%
35,000 - 50%
50,000 - 60%

Which would raise 468 billion and allow further investments in health and other vital areas.

MessageIn the interest of keeping the government stable and decreasing our huge national debt, the KMA is willing to support this bill if it is later accompanied by small budget cuts that can be negotiated on.

MessageArbeiderpartiet, which only received half the votes that VG did, is hardly in a position to get things all its own way in negotiations over appropriate income tax levels. As VG has already stated our party's programme demands a top rate of 90% and anything less than 60% is completely unacceptable to our voters. If this proposal is put forward in its current form we will have no choice but to vote against it.

MessageThen you may vote against it - but you should bear in mind - as often is the case to remind yourselves - that you do not speak for the majority of Kazulia - you do not hold a majority of seats.

MessageArbeiderpartiet should bear in mind that it only received 14% of the vote in the last election and that its interests lie surely in working with the other parties of the left to create a progressive government for all the people of Kazulia. Its refusal to cooperate with De venstregrønne is unfortunate and can only serve to empower the right-wing parties that are determined to destroy Kazulia's social model and increase inequality in our country.

MessageDVG should bear in mind that working together requires compromise - as usual their ability to do so is hampered by their own egocentric view of the world. They make it impossible for the left to unite under one banner - if anyone is putting a socially just Kazulia at risk it is them.

FromDe venstregrønne
ToDebating the Income tax proposal of November 3556
MessageArbeiderpartiet wants a top rate of 50% while De venstregrønne wants a top rate of 90%. A true compromise would therefore have been 70% but De venstregrønne went even further than this and was willing to go as low as 60%. Yet apparently even this is not good enough for Arbeiderpartiet - a party which only received half the votes that we did.

MessageThis is the tax proposal VG would propose it it had a majority in parliament: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=388007

As Arbeiderpartiet can surely see the actual proposal we decided to put forward is far closer to what Arbeiderpartiet wants than what VG and its voters would have wanted to see. Unfortunately VG's willingness to compromise is not shared by Arbeiderpartiet which wants everything its own way.

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections.

Random quote: "Radical left-wing ideologies must be stamped out." - Franklin McCarthy, former Solentian politician
