Bill: VG Income tax proposal of January 3557

Details

Submitted by[?]: De venstregrønne

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes to change income taxes. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 3558

Description[?]:

Our compromise income tax proposal which we hope can form the basis of a new leftist government after the election. VG supports a top tax rate of 90% but since our last proposal of 65% was rejected we are willing to go as low as 60%. Anything less would be a betrayal of the wishes of our voters.

MessageArbeiderpartiet shall not support a top rate tax of 60% - we believe that 50% is the absolute highest rate any citizen should be made to pay - however have tried to compromise with DVG by raising our limit to 55%. That is our maximum - take it or leave it.

MessageThen we're afraid VG will have to "leave it". Our absolute minimum is 60% and as the largest party by far we have every right to demand this.

Random fact: Party candidates for head of state elections are not visible to the public. This means that you cannot see who will run and who will not, which adds another strategic element to the elections.

Random quote: "Religion, like capitalism, will perish in the end. We estimate the complete Terra-wide extinction of Hosianism as a religious belief by the year 4409, and in Dorvik by 4398." - Friedrich Pfeiffer, former Dorvish politician
