Bill: Proportional Military Control Act - 3569
Details
Submitted by[?]: Great National Republican Guard
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 3569
Description[?]:
Currently, our law states that our military is made up of reserves in alignment with paramilitary groups. Our law on paramilitaries states that paramilitaries are heavily regulated by the government, and other laws imply that private paramilitaries are issued defence contracts. The NRG suggests that paramilitaries should be run by the parties, somewhat in proportion to the amount of seats they have (in keeping with the Rildanor Accords standards). Paramilitaries will be calculated by state. The size of each party's military will be dependent on the amount of supporters they have in each election in each state. This will allow parties to send their own troops to war when they want to, as opposed to having a military go to war on behalf of the entire nation. The party, as opposed to the entire nation, would be held responsible for its own actions and decisions. For this to work successfully, we should increase the salaries of the Members of the Presidium while ensuring that a portion of it goes to the parties themselves instead of solely the MPs. This will ensure that the more support a party gets is the more that party will be able to afford paramilitaries. The reserve military will still be a professional group owned by the government, to defend Lodamun if our sovereignty is ever threatened. Paramilitaries will continue to comprise the active military force of the country. |
