We propose the following: Automatic Titles: All former Heads of State automatically receive the title Viscount / Viscountess of a Solentian state (to be determined by the current Head of State). This will be hereditary for 250 years. After this time decedents become Lord / Lady All former Heads of Government automatically receive the title Baron / Baroness of a Solentian city (to be determined by the current Head of State). This will be hereditary for 250 years. After this time decedents become Lord / Lady Nominated Titles: These can be awarded by certain individuals at certain time intervals: Head of State: can nominate 2 per election term Each political party with 30% or more of seats in the national legislature may nominate 1 per election term Former members of the nation’s legislature or State Governors may be awarded the title of Lord / Lady. This is not hereditary Other individuals may be awarded the title Knight / Dame for services to the public, for example business, the arts, charitable causes etc. This is not hereditary (they will be known as Sir John Smith / Dame Joan Smith) Any title can be stripped with just cause by a 2/3 vote within the nations legislature. Just reasons need to be given and explained for a title to be legitimately stripped |
