Bill: Mittelschichts-Steuersenkung
Details
Submitted by[?]: Liberale Volkspartei
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill proposes to change income taxes. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 3573
Description[?]:
Herr Präsident, thanks to unexpectedly high tax revenue, we have a surplus of 239,665,293,604 HCR. Since government should not hoard the wealth of its citizens, we propose to release a substantial part of that surplus into the economy by giving the middle class a significant tax cut by reducing their income tax burden and making high-quality goods more affordable by slashing the so-called "luxury tax". Richard Aoyama, MdR LVP-Hilgar Minister of Finance |

Message | Herr Präsident, I rise to welcome, on behalf of my party and my department, the measures Herr Aoyama is announcing today on behalf of the government. While everyone rejoices at the substantial cut to the middle class bracket, which should inspire confidence on behalf of our people which can only lead to increased spending power and economic optimism, I would also like to point out the very welcome cut that was made to the luxury Mehrwertensteuer, which is especially important for businesses. Everyone in this house shall be aware of the recent international expansion made by Tenkoun AG (OOC: for those that weren't around, Tenkoun is a slightly tongue-in-cheek reference to RL Japan's Nintendo) in the gaming world. Titles such as Super José and PhoenixQuest are continentwide, sometimes even worldwide hits. Cutting luxury VAT would in part make such games more affordable to a wider audience but it would also ease costs on Tenkoun, allowing it to export this unique developing aspect of our modern Kunihito and shared Crownlander culture to other countries. I, for sure, look forward to seeing Super José Planet, the next iteration in the adventures of our endearing Draniano gardener, ship to more countries than ever before. Tenkoun is obviously an example, but there are more companies on the high end of our economy, using the excellent educational output provided by our universities to provide high-tech products. We're helping all of these industries grow, creating jobs and prosperity for all. (OOC: I assume urban Mitrania, at this point, where Tenkoun has its headquarters (Syakusen, I believe) is attracting many technological firms. By the way, I didn't choose to put Tenkoun in Syakusen because I have a stranglehold on Mitrania). die sehr ehrenwerte Frau Anne Nishimura MdR (HDV - Labsburg Sankt Martinus, Budenlar) Wirtschaftsministerin (Minister for Trade and Industry) |

Message | Herr Präsident, While the proposed legislation is exemplary, and the honorable member's comments are... interesting, product pitches seem somewhat below the dignity of this body. Oswald Chiyo Haase Party Leader |

Message | Herr Präsident, I must express my displeasure at seeing Tenkoun's so-called "Super Jose" products being endorsed by the Hulstrian government. "Super Jose" encourages racist and bigoted negative stereotypes about Dranianos and Egelians. Rather than plugging these vile video games, the Minister for Trade & Industry ought to be condemning them. Fabricio Alvarado MP Leader of Hacia Casa |
