We propose to end payments to guarantee a minimum income as they are a drain on the Likatonian economy and in the case of disaster, separate aid packages will be provided in lieu of a minimum income. |

Proposal[?] to change Guarantee of minimum income.
Old value:: All adults not supported by another person shall be guaranteed a very basic subsistence income by the government. However, the provision of this is not to exceed a certian period of time.
Current: All adults not supported by another person shall be guaranteed a reasonable, though not high, standard of living by the government.
Proposed: There shall be no direct cash payments to individuals to guarantee a minimum income.

Message | The Libertarian wing of the AAS did push for support, but were argued down on a technicality. The other factions made a convincing case that market forces should govern in the market place, but that those helped by the current 'cash payment' scheme are below even access to the market place. In other words, market forces can only help those who can participate in the market. |
