Message | Herr Präsident, The use of titles of nobility is a means first and foremost to reward citizens of our Crownlands who have shown exceptional merit or service to them. We need not remind the House that the first recipient after the September Revolution was Thomas Michels, Father of our Constitution and the man who liberated this nation from a tyrannical and totalitarian regime. Is it not right that men such as him are honoured as the noble men and women they are? die sehr ehrenwerte Frau Anne Nishimura MdR (HDV - Labsburg Sankt Martinus) Staatsministerin |

Message | Herr Präsident, With respect, no, it is not right to honor people in this fashion. Truly honorable citizens are content with the record of their deeds and the acclimation of their fellows, and do not require the shallow validation of a state-sanctioned honorific. THe HDV can try to hang famous names and actions on this backward policy as they please, but it is nothing more than a throw-back to the same anti-democratic forces they claim to so despise, in spirit if not in absolute. Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections. |
