Description[?]:
Taken from here: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=399560 This bill is created in order to protect Pontesi from radical and unrealistic changes, in conformity to game rules (cf. http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4374). It is a minor amendment to a previous Protocol which was not endorsed by the regular long term players of the nation. Ethnic groups: The Pnték language, a variant of Jélbek, is the lingua franca in Pontesi. A detailed dictionary of the Jelbic languages can be found here: http://www.idioc.co.uk/Jelbic-0.1.0.txt. The Pntek people are related to the Jelbanians, as are the Higlanders (Nrktek), who could be considered a subgroup of the Pntek, a handful of northern dialects considered an ethnicity of it's own by some. The general naming convention among most naturalised Pontesians of various descents is similar to RL Slavic. However, the upper echelons of Pntek society - many of whom belong to families who have been associated with Pontesian politics for generations - prefer to differentiate themselves from the more southern Jelbic peoples who they consider to be of inferior race. This racial arrogance is rooted in the old Empire and is evident in many names of Politicians and cities in Pontesi which follow an English Victorian naming convention. It is becoming more common for those with Slavic names to begin to take High Office. The Beiteynuese comprise a significant minority as their homeland (Gran Tadraki) was partially occupied by the Pontesian Empire for centuries, as are the Gaduri, whose land used to be a colony of the Empire. Selucians are an additional minority group - their numbers increased signficantly due to Seleucian policies towards populating the Pntek lands but those numbers were severely reduced by several centuries of forced emigration and restrictive immigration policies implemented by the Pontesian government against Seleucians. Pontesi has also always had a noticeable minority of Majatrans, who are the most numerous among those who practice the Abadi faith. Ethnic/cultural groups: Pntek: 58% (Including 6%Nrktek) Selucians: 6% Majatrans: 10% Barmenians: 6% Beiteynuese: 14% Artanians: 3% Gaduri: 4% Other: 2% *Please note, these numbers, while not stagnate, should not fluctuate wildly. Large demographic changes should only occur with an extensive RP. Religious groups: The dominant religion in Pontesi has always been Hosianism (Christianity, http://particracy.wikia.com/wiki/Hosianism). The Pontesian Bishopal Church (variant of Anglican) has been the dominant Church in Pontesi since the days of the old Empire and has been spread in the old Imperial Lands. The Seleucian minority follow the teachings of the Selucian Patriarchal Church (Roman Catholicism, http://particracy.wikia.com/wiki/Selucian_Patriarchal_Church). Abadi (more or less an equalivent of Shia Islam, http://particracy.wikia.com/wiki/Abadi) and the Yeudi (Judaism, particracy.wikia.com/wiki/Yeudism). The faith in Felinism (http://particracy.wikia.com/wiki/Feline_Homeland_of_Barmenia#Cult_of_the_Sacred_Feline.EF.BB.BF) was outlawed for many years but has since been legalised. Daenism has a very small following. (Buddhism, http://particracy.wikia.com/wiki/Daenism). Hosianism: 67% - Pontesi Bishopal Church: 57% - Selucian Patriarchal Church: 10% - Other Churches: 3% Abadism: 8% Yeudism: 14% Irreligious: 4% Daenism: 1% Felinism: 1% Other: 2% *Please note, these numbers, while not stagnate, should not fluctuate wildly. Large demographic changes should only occur with an extensive RP. |

Message | ooc: for standard Pntek names I suggest using Jelbicised Hosian names from here: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=396321 for Standard Pntek surnames I suggest adding -srimko (son) and -drisme (daughter) to Hosian names, or optionally to traditional Jelbek names. for standard Nrktek names I suggest using either Pntek ones, or traditional Jelbek names from same bill: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=396321 for standard Nrktek surnames I suggest poethic combination of two Jelbek language words, i.e. in my cabinet I used Srwefluz - beer river Krnatrk - time tree Ornataghe - orange fields Frjdnu - fire dog |

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
