Bill: National Motto
Details
Submitted by[?]: United People's Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 3576
Description[?]:
'Ever Upward' is what our thoughts and actions are, have been and must continue to be. Our strengths lie in our unity in multiculturalism, progressive rationale and a thirst for betterment. Thus, to take a lesson from history: the truth about the old 'through cooperation, we prosper' thought was supported by propagandists of aristocracy; whereby they ensured that those who do not cooperate with the 'ruler'/'so-called leader' will be put to lifelong torture, and those who subject themselves to such forced cooperation will be allowed to prosper, which again, never happened. They were too smart to ensure that every thing, even the national motto, was in their reach of affairs and could be twisted to use as and however wished! Well, we must throw away the wastes of the horrific past, and learning from them, let us move forward. Ever Upward,or 'Excelsior' in Latin (to ensure no language in our multilingual society is specifically favored, latin being the root language for most languages here), aptly shows our will to move forward towards long lasting peace and prosperity, while also assuring that it denotes all our people, the country of Beluzia, and not one person's or group's fancies for power. Another great leap to reaffirm our democratic, republican structure. |

Message | While we have always been partial to "Sic Semper Tyrannus" we like the idea of a positive motto for our nation to aspire to live up to. OOC: "Semper ubi sub ubi" is a good one too, and good advice... |
