Bill: Citizenship/Nationality Law
Details
Submitted by[?]: United People's Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 3576
Description[?]:
A huge clarification in understanding what they meant by nationality and citizenship here, which are actually the same by 'International Law', which we will adhere to. The following is our present standing on Nationality as given in the bill proposals list (this law on nationality is given separate in case countries wish to distinguish nationals and citizens... such a hyped complex matter if they do so!) Subject Government policy concerning granting nationality. (national of this state without implication of having citizenship rights) Proposed value Only those born to nationals become nationals. Only those born in this country or to nationals receive nationality. Currently: Anyone receives nationality but immigrants must pass a test to gain nationality. Anyone is able to claim nationality. So, for us, our nationals gain citizenships (citizens then), and regarding immigrants, only if they pass the nationality test, No further second citizenship test for our own nationals as we have in place now! That would be absurd!! |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Government policy concerning granting citizenship.
Old value:: Citizenship is gained by passing a qualifying exam.
Current: Citizenship is gained by passing a qualifying exam.
Proposed: Citizenship is granted to all nationals.

Message | Read description of the bill, for a clear understanding...there was some confusion about the whole nationa-citizenship thing which now gets very clear and simple! :D |
Date | 23:26:50, November 12, 2013 CET | From | United People's Party | To | Debating the Citizenship/Nationality Law |
Message | When they say 'Nationals' here, they imply our nationals by law, and about immigrants/foreigners, the need to pass the nationality test. Thus all those who are our nationals through natural ways or by tests are our citizens (read description). No further complex distinguishing. |

Message | Our parties believe in open minds and open borders. That this discusses only the status of current nationals and clarifies their status. We will stand in agreement with this legislation. We do take this opportunity to oppose any test for citizenship. If someone chooses to come to our country, contribute to our community and our economy, they are as Beluzian as me or people who can trace their Beluzian lineage back for centuries. |

Message | Yes, Liberty Party, you are correct! This law makes everything actually clear: Our nationals are automatically our citizens, and we need no further complex classifications. And, those from other nations will have to pass a test to become a Beluzian national/citizen. |

Random fact: When it comes to creating a Cultural Protocol in a Culturally Open nation, players are not necessarily required to provide a plausible backstory for how the nation's cultural background developed. However, the provision of a plausible backstory may be a factor in whether Moderation approves the Cultural Protocol if players in surrounding nations question its appropriateness for their region of the game map. |
