"Girl chasing" is an immoral pastime and it is totally unacceptable to have it listed as our national sport. We propose steeplechasing as an alternative. Message | OOC: Girl Chasing isn't as rapey as it sounds. It's a perfectly legitimate national sport in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Azerbaijan. "A game is usually conducted as follows. A young man on horseback waits at a given place (the starting line). A young woman, also mounted, starts her horse galloping from a given distance behind the young man. When the young woman passes the young man, he may start his horse galloping. The two race towards a finish line some distance ahead. If the young man is able to catch up to the young woman before they reach the finish line, he may reach out to her and steal a kiss, which constitutes his victory. However, if the young man has not caught up to the young woman by the time they reach the finish line, the young woman turns around and chases the young man back to the starting line. If she is in range of the young man, she may use her whip to beat him, which signifies a victory for her." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyz_kuu |

Message | OOC: I can come up with a translation for steeplechase if you want, but I'd have to invent new words for that. |

Message | OOC: You're right, it's not quite what I imagined it to be, lol! As it's original, I'd rather leave the national sport as it is. Putting the vote forward just to archive the info about girl chasing, though. |

Random fact: In cases where players introduce RP laws to a nation and then leave, Moderation reserves the discretion to declare the RP laws void if they appear to have fallen into disuse. In particular, please bear in mind that a player who is inexperienced with Particracy role-play and has joined a nation as the only party there should not generally be expected to abide by RP laws implemented by previous players who have been and left. |
