Bill: [Tabled] Old Budget Proposal

Details

Submitted by[?]: Radical Freedom Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 2162

Description[?]:

The Finance Ministry proposes to adjust the government's spending budget to better address the economic and social situation of the Federated States of Rutania.

1) A minor increase in defence spending to fund the Defence ministries plans to improve seaside defences

2) Slashing the HoG discretionary spending, as we at the Finance Ministry really do not see any use for it.

3) Improving the quality of education. Although parties disagree on the statistics, we are far from the brightest in Terra and funding an education system - even a private one with vouchers - costs money. The current education budget is laughable, and in dire need of improvement.

MessageI would agree with the FP. Maybe cut foreign affairs too, since you hardly need 2,800,000,000 RUT to maintain some embassies and propose treaties. Also, is anyone sure what "Internal Affairs" actually does that isnt covered by some other department?

MessageOOC: Heck, I didn't know we could do budgets yet. Please keep Internal Affairs. I think its like an FBI type thing, and since its my department, I want its budget!

The Grand Republican Party supports this budget fully, and are gratified to see an increase in educational and defence budgets. The GRP assures its fellow cabinet members that the Internal Affairs Ministry conducts its business with aplomb and finess (OOC: Which means I haven't the foggiest what it does, but I wants the monies), and will continue to serve the country well. However, the GRP would be willing to see some IA funds go to the Defence Budget, say 500,000 Ruts, as well as a posible increase in the Justice Department

OOC: Cool. We get to lobby for our departments. Let the lobbying and the oversight commitees begin!
