Message | Madame Speaker, These policies are over the top and will reduce both our economic strength and our economic freedom. Specifically we take aim at the mandatory union membership which is an assault on the freedom to assemble and the nationalization of the energy sector. Will the incoming ministry please explain and lay out how they intend to structure the national energy company or companies and how mandatory union membership will benefit workers? Message | Madame Speaker, The mandatory union membership seeks to get rid of the concept of "free rides", where non-union members also get pay raises that unions work for, which has been proven to damage the negotiation process. For the energy companies, the government (using the levers of the national bank) will buy majority shares within the current energy companies, and then use that power structure to ensure regulations are met, and will also employ green energy goals. The end goal is to make energy free at the point of use. Operating a utility for the best interest of the country is both morally and economically more sound than capital-centric management.
