| We, the delegates of the National People's Congress, hereby assembled in the Presidium of the People as the duly elected representatives of the Hutorian people, do recognize the following: That bourgeois radicals have infiltrated the City of Aylesbury, in Lagard Province. That the administration of Mayor Mary Baxter is threatened by these radicals. That they have violated the laws of the land and have taken up resistance against the glory of Socialism. That they have denounced the sovereignty and self-determination of Hutori. That civil administration has been disrupted in Aylesbury through the incitement of protests, and other forms of illegal behavior, that challenge the legitimacy of the Government. That the Hutorian flag has been desecrated, and in its place, an unrecognized rag has been hoisted atop the Municipal Court Building. That these radicals, in the aforementioned acts, have waged insurrection against the People's Republic of Hutori. Now, therefore, the Presidium of the People of the People's Republic of Hutori hereby resolves, That the Hutorian Army and Air Force are to be deployed to combat these radicals. That civil administration is hereby suspended in the City of Aylesbury until further notice. That the Peoples' Militia, under command of Party Commandant Clarence E. Walsh, is to establish a security perimeter around the city. That the armed forces are authorized to use all means necessary to restore order to the city. That the communist flag shall fly from the Municipal Court Building at the end of combat operations. That this uprising shall constitute insurrection under Hutorian law, and that a writ of attainder is hereby ordered against the following individuals: Miranda Theodossiou Decius Virgilius It is so ordered. | Message | While I am strongly supportive of maintaining our sovereignty and national security; I will not 'uphold socialism' and do not condone the flying of either a communist flag or this 'unrecognized' flag in the borders of Hutori. So, I will reluctantly advocate against this proposal until provision can be made that the only flag flying above any government building will be that of our nation or it's respective regions. |
