MessageThis treaty benefits Hutori by encouraging other countries that have signed on to treat Hutorians humanely if they are ever prisoners of war. Torturing foreigners would also be very bad PR anyway. We feel that this treaty is an acceptable limit to our sovereignty.

MessageWe cannot support this, this international treaty obligates all signatories to either

"return POW's to their country of origin"

or

"to treat them well according to internationally-accepted standards."

This is something we would want to happen to any of our POW's and so we should remain a signatory to this treaty to ensure that such does happen.

If the DCD wants to withdraw does that mean they do not support treating POW's well? That is a very strange stance for if we were to do so we could be sure that any nation holding our POW's would retaliate!

MessageSorry for being unclear. We were making the same point that the Libertarians just made. We are against withdrawing from this.

MessageSo your saying we should treat POW's as though they were good people and watch as are Soldiers are probably killed, tortured, and mutilated to extract information from? Because thats what im hearing. Its just fine for some third world country to get away with it because...there barbarians and savages and they dont know any better...but we are more civilized so we cant do that, even though are own crime rates are up more then some "Freeland Anarchist Paradise"....i mean seriously.

If you want to protect the enemy as if they were YOUR friends, go ahead...but dont expect us to come to your aid should they be cutting into your flesh with knives until you tell them where something is.

MessageThe answer to the PRP is yes!

A civilised nation does not abuse POW's! Any person who thinks otherwise deserves and will always recieve our UTTER contempt.

Remember, EVERY nation that is signed up to the treaty is similary bound to treat POW's well.

MessageWell sane people are usually the ones that have been brainwashed by the Corporations and by the Captialist Government. Only people that thank outside the box knows that Communism is better, but we dont expect you to understand that...

And what of the Nations that didnt sign that Treaty huh? They could care less about your laws and rules. They would hook you to a car battery...of course you may like such things...and watch as you become a christmas tree. Or they may even do worse, and i will gurentee you that your Treaty wont save you should rebels get a hold of you.

MessageA civilised nation acts in a civilised manner at all times, ...........................why? ..........................Because it is the civilised thing to do!

You can be as melodramatic as your thespian nature allows but the truth is civilised nations do not abuse POW's! We would like to think Hutori is a civilised nation.

If we are at war with a nation that abuses POW's then we will take that matter up as a war crime after we have won the war, with the perpetrators in a war crimes trial in a civlised third nation.

MessageThat there is a thin line between civilized and uncivilized and that those that pride themselves on it are those that in the end lose the war.
