Bill: Alkoholvetriebsreform, 3596

Details

Submitted by[?]: Liberale Volkspartei

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 3597

Description[?]:

Herr Präsident,

Hulstria is a country with a proud high-quality brewing tradition, and this tradition stems from entrepreneurial excellency, not from governmental regulation. The licensing system for selling beer and other alcoholic drinks is therefore hardly justified, even more so given the fact that we do not impose a similar regime on food sales even though the quality of food is even more important to public health.

MessageThe Hulstrianisch Nein Partei says NEIN to the cynical attempt to poison and corrupt the minds of our citizens with the demon drink. This is exactly the WRONG direction that our country should be going. It's clear to us that the Liberale Volkspartei has had a little bit too much to drink before submitting this potentially destructive proposal.

MessageHerr Präsident,

I'm sure our citizens, who value Hulstria's cultivated drinking culture, will take note of the gentleman from the Nein Partei labelling beer a "demon's drink". I want every worker to be free to open up a can of beer after a hard day of laboring, and likewise I want every businessman to be free to clink glasses over a successful deal with a bottle of wine. The moral puritanism from the NP is opposed to how the vast majority of ordinary people feel about this issue, und unlike them we as Liberals have no intention to nanny our citizens on what they ought to consume.
