It is immoral to parcel them off to private landlords for private profit and environmental exploitation and degradation. Return the forests to the people! | Message | Herr Präsident, our farmers, foresters and landowners can be trusted with the woods - their work ensures that forests remain well-groomed, that there is sufficient supply of wood to be sold, and to prevent overgrowth. They also take care of the appearance of the cultural landscape, and suggesting that state bureucrats are better placed to conduct all these tasks is at least a mild affront against our hard-working rural population. | Message | Herr Präsident, I only wish the forests of the Crownlands *were* run by "our hard-working rural population", but the reality - as Herr Zinnberger ought to know - is that they are controlled by a handful of wealthy landowners. These landowners understand little of rural communities and care even less. The reforms we are proposing will take the management of our forests away from the land-owning oligarchs and give it back to the working people who know, understand and love them the best.
