Description[?]:

Herr Präsident,

The forests are the common inheritance of all the peoples of Hulstria and Gao-Soto. It is immoral to parcel them off to private landlords for private profit and environmental exploitation and degradation. Return the forests to the people! Let them be run for the long-term benefit of all of us!

MessageHerr Präsident,

our farmers, foresters and landowners can be trusted with the woods - their work ensures that forests remain well-groomed, that there is sufficient supply of wood to be sold, and to prevent overgrowth. They also take care of the appearance of the cultural landscape, and suggesting that state bureucrats are better placed to conduct all these tasks is at least a mild affront against our hard-working rural population.

MessageHerr Präsident,

I only wish the forests of the Crownlands *were* run by "our hard-working rural population", but the reality - as Herr Zinnberger ought to know - is that they are controlled by a handful of wealthy landowners. These landowners understand little of rural communities and care even less. The reforms we are proposing will take the management of our forests away from the land-owning oligarchs and give it back to the working people who know, understand and love them the best.

OOC: Alain, I love that line about keeping the forests "well-groomed" lol!!

MessageHerr Präsident,

obviously Herr Siegel makes no difference between government bureucrats and working people - in reality the difference could not be greater! Anyway, with his defamation of farmers and forest owners as money-grubbing "oligarchs", he has greatly assisted the coalition in the battle for the rural vote - does he really believe that the Socialist party is going to receive a single vote in regions like rural Mitrania if his policy is to expropriate every forest owner and hand the woods to state minions, possibly public sector union bosses?

OOC: That line derives from a literal translation from German to English^^

MessageHerr Präsident,

I can assure Herr Zinnberger that Solidarity is being flooded with support from working people in rural areas who are fed up with being lorded over by unscrupulous landlords who exploit their labour, degrade their environment, charge extortionate rents and wreak havoc amongst their communities. Under a Solidarity government, rural land will be returned to rural people - and to the greater benefit of us all!

MessageHerr Präsident,

Herr Siegel does not understand the mentality of us rural citizens. We were raised in a tradition that teaches respect for others' property, and the Hosian principle of not eyeing what others rightfully own. We are immune against his attempts to stir up class envy and jealousy of our neighbours' ownings. I predict that on election day, this mentality will punish his party in the rural regions.

MessageHerr Präsident,

If only these large rural landowners were rural people themselves! All of the ones I've seen have been city slickers who know nothing about the rural way of life - and care even less.
