Bill: The Unity Returns

Details

Submitted by[?]: Hosian Democratic Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 3621

Description[?]:

Earlier this year, representatives from the Freedom Party met with Socialist Party officials about a possible grand coalition for the sake of political stability in Malivia. Despite gaining fewer votes than the Unity coalition, the Socialists refused to allow the Conservatives in the government or give the Freedom Party an equitable share in governing power.

Today, with the withdrawal of the Nationalist Party from the National Assembly, the Unity once again is in the majority, and the Socialists' lust for power will cost them as they will now find themselves in the opposition for the next 5 years.

MessageWe emphasise that the narrative here presented is a lie. The Socialist Party as the largest party in parliament insisted in keeping the responsibilities of Head of Government which Unity wanted to keep for themselves. When the Socialist Party presented a counter-offer that included a majority of Freedom ministers, the Freedom Party rejected this offer. The truth is that the Freedom Party never wanted a coalition with the Socialists. All they want is to destroy the future of our beloved nation.
