MessageWe find it fascinating that the Unity 'sham' government chooses to keep the majority of the increases made in Health and Social Services, as well as all the increases in Education and Culture, and also does not reverse all cuts to the Head of Government and Defence budgets, showing how deep the corruption was when they were in power and how justified the cuts made by the Socialists were.

MessageThe greater fascination, and shame, is the Socialists' inability to understand how to responsibly run a government. If they did they might have understood that changes in a nation can not be done over night, and as such must be tapered down gradually over time. That said, let us examine the Socialists argument:

[Education and Culture]
Given the strain the Church will be under assisting the national government in cleaning up the Socialists' mess, we found it necessary to direct more funds to the church for charity and poverty relief efforts. We are glad the Socialists and the Unity could find some common ground in supporting this measure.

[Head of Government]
While regrettable, we found the economic situation too dire to justify government using more of citizens income than it needs to. The Conservative Party in an act of generosity has agreed to fund a portion of head of government expenses from its own coffers until the economy is stable enough to warrant a change.

[Defense]
Once again, the current economic situation forces us to make changes that aren't always desirable. That said, an almost 30% restoration of funds to the military is no small matter. But if the Socialists wishes to revel in the vulnerability of our national sovereignty and common defense that is their right, no matter how misguided.

[Healthcare]
Under the Socialist's budget and the government owned health industry there was only 150 MRC per Malivian allocated for healthcare (15 bill MRC/ 99.7 mil people). After reinstating the Malivian Luthoran Church as the State Church and Privatizing Health Care, the government will only need to take care of citizens who are too poor to afford health care and are not receiving care from the Churches many hospitals. Let us (generously) assume that the number of citizens in poverty under the Socialists' economy is around 40%. With the Church treating half of those in poverty for free that leaves whats left of the nationalized system to care for 20% of the population, or roughly 20 million people (20% * 99.7 mil). As we can see (10 bil MRC / 20 mil people) our health care system now budgets 500 MRC per person or a 333% increase over the old Socialized System.
