Bill: Police Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Socio-Democratic Union
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2163
Description[?]:
The SDU believes that it's the duty of State to enforce law and to provide a safe living environment to Dolgarians rather than Private Compagnies, whatever their capabilities are. We furthermore propose that local police department be created and managed by local authorities, as this kind of police has proven to be efficient in fighting crime due to its better knowledge of the local situation. |

Message | actually, this doesnt mean what you are proposing. While I agree. What it means is that each county can decide how to run the police force, either through national funds, private subcontractors, eyc. Obviously Karzon would go for private, while Hodari would go for public. so.... you really mean something else |

Message | Well, when I read "national police department funded by the national government", I understand a public force on national scale. When I read "local police departments, funded by local governments" I also understand a public force on local scale... I don't read in this proposal that local government are able to choose between public or private police forces... However, if that is what it is supposed to mean (and you should acknowledge then that it's not very clear), I still propose it, as it's better to me than a full private police. |

Message | OOOOOH ok I see. I thought it read "Police department is left to the local government." you know, what the normal local government position is. but regardless, I only like either the current position or the above position. |

Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action. |
