Bill: CADI Preposition I

Details

Submitted by[?]: Freedom Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 3628

Description[?]:

Mr Speaker,

Dranland was given it's second national anthem in 2516, some years after the Draddwyr genocide (OOC: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=168397 ) to manifest the unity and reconciliation between different ethnic groups. As we have recently experienced another age of fascism and hatred, and another attempted genocide - not only against the Draddwyr, but also against the Dranianos and the Kazulians as well, we view this as a suitable anthem for our restored Dranish democracy.

However - the anthem contains references to God, which is problematic for us. Dranland is a multi-ethnic, multicultural and multi-religious liberal democracy. For this reason, we propose a slightly modified variant of the 2516 national anthem, with references to God change to references to Heaven, as an inclusive compromise fitting for peoples of all faiths.

Heaven save the High King and our Dranish democracy!

Aake Hørd MP (FP)
Head of the Council for All-Dranish Identity (CADI)

Random fact: Whilst the use of non-English languages can be appropriate for nation names, party names, constitutional titles and other variables, English is the official language of communication in the game. All descriptive texts and public communications should be in English or at least appear alongside a full English translation.
