Bill: Elective Fairness Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Green Party of Quanzar

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 3633

Description[?]:

The right to vote and run for the highest office is a highly regarded right within Istalia. However despite this stance the poorest in our society are hindered in their pursuit of office due to the lack of a disposable income to serve as a campaign fund. In addition prisoners while still holding citizenship are also barred from voting. To rectify this the GPI proposes that all citizens regardless of their personal income be given equal access to campaign funding to promote a more even footing in elections. We also propose giving prisoners the right to vote, out of respect for their fundamental human rights and to aid in rehabilitation.
