Bill: Democracy
Details
Submitted by[?]: Communist Party of Darnussia
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 3645
Description[?]:
I literally cannot introduce anything worthwhile due to this. Fair enough, the IPP did it when he came in and implemented his dictatorship, which is fair enough; but we've got 8 parties in parliament now. What possible reason could you have for voting against this? (Shiv Sena. That's directed towards you). Change it. |

Message | Around 25 is considered the norm in this game, but Shiv Sena thought this was 'too much', so I whittled it down a little to please them. |

Message | OOC: A Norm in this game? Nothing is a norm in a roleplaying game. I've been in several nations where it was all from nothing to way to many proposals. I'd say around 10 is fair. But for RP reasons i go with less. In other nations i go for more...just the way we play... |

Message | IC: For this nation to prosper and succeed we believe that only the King should have the right to put forward unlimited amount of proposals. Also the Government. But the parties should mostly represent the people and thus be able to vote for the proposals. Though a little amount of proposal shall be allowed on a 'peoples initiative right', but it should be kept pretty low to not accumulate to many laws in the Imperial Council, as we have seen recently. |

Message | UPP, how many proposals came from your party? Did your party actually use all the proposals? |
Date | 15:57:11, April 02, 2014 CET | From | Loyalistische Partei | To | Debating the Democracy |
Message | OOC: No. More proposals tends to equal more bills with multiple, often contradictory proposals which suck big time as it messes up with peoples visibilities and stances in game. |
Date | 00:06:23, April 03, 2014 CET | From | The Caesar Party | To | Debating the Democracy |
Message | UPP and my great nation ruined by a dictator, I will have my revenge. |

Random fact: In cases where a party has no seat, the default presumption should be that the party is able to contribute to debates in the legislature due to one of its members winning a seat at a by-election. However, players may collectively improvise arrangements of their own to provide a satisfying explanation for how parties with no seats in the legislature can speak and vote there. |
Random quote: "Civil disobedience. . . is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience. Our problem is that numbers of people all over the world have obeyed the dictates of the leaders of their government and have gone to war, and millions have been killed because of this obedience. . Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world in the face of poverty and starvation and stupidity, and war, and cruelty. Our problem is that people are obedient while the jails are full of petty thieves, and all the while the grand thieves are running the country. That's our problem." - Howard Zinn |
