Description[?]:
According to the Cultural Protocol of Cildania (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=405815), the national languages are Phoenician (in Hebrew script), Berber languages, Hebrew, and to a small extent, Latin. This bill will offer a guide on naming characters belonging to each of Cildania's main ethnic groups. 1. Cildanian (Phoenician) There is a relatively large number of preserved Phoenician and Punic first names. For surnames, I suggest two systems: either <bin> (if male) or <bitt> (if female) + <male first name>, or the use of random common words in Phoenician, especially words denoting professions. List of male Phoenician first names: http://canaanite.org/?p=51 List of female Phoenician first names: http://canaanite.org/?p=54 Phoenician dictionary: http://www.canaanite.org/dictionary/ 2. Hebilean (Berber) Since Berbers generally have Arabic surnames, I suggest that Hebilean characters have a Berber first name as their surname, or, to show the cultural synthesis that characterizes Cildania, they could also use Cildanian surnames, as outlined above. Male Berber first names: http://www.morocco.com/forums/berber-culture-culture-berbere/25464-amazigh-names-boys.html Female Berber first names: http://www.morocco.com/forums/berber-culture-culture-berbere/25465-amazigh-names-girls.html Male & female Berber first names (PDF): http://www.tamazgha.org/uploads/4/2/2/3/422318/acaa_amazigh_names.pdf French-Berber dictionary: http://www.amawal.net/ 3. Yeudish (Hebrew) Since Cildanian Yeudis are primarily based on Syrian Jews, they use Sephardi Jewish names and surnames. Jewish name and surname generator (male): http://www.behindthename.com/random/random.php?number=4&gender=m&surname=&randomsurname=yes&all=no&usage_jew=1 Jewish name and surname generator (female): http://www.behindthename.com/random/random.php?number=4&gender=f&surname=&randomsurname=yes&all=no&usage_jew=1 4. Seluco-Cildanian (African Romance) Since Seluco-Cildanians are based on Romanized Punics, I suggest that for first names they use Romanized versions of Punic names, while for surnames they could use standard Roman names. Punic first names: http://hannibalbarca.webspace.virginmedia.com/carthage-punic-names.htm Roman names and surnames (male): http://www.behindthename.com/random/random.php?number=4&gender=m&surname=&randomsurname=yes&all=no&usage_roma=1 Roman names and surnames (female): http://www.behindthename.com/random/random.php?number=4&gender=f&surname=&randomsurname=yes&all=no&usage_roma=1 |

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections. |
