| We are currently faced with a system which is fundamentally broken. The way our political system is currently working allows the exploitation of the number of proposals to be put through, to disproportionately benefit the party which submits these hefty bills. The publicity and controversy around these acts serves to entrench the current political groupings. Previously, we supported the larger number of proposals due to supporting the upsurgance in creative political applications. It seems instead to have promoted nonsense and stagnation as we achieve gradual deadlock. We propose the drastic reduction of the number of acts which can both be accumulated, and proposed over time. Currently we are going nowhere. The alternative is each party subjecting parliament to huge bulks of proposals as a way to compete, creating only arduous and stagnant politics. However, this bill cannot pass without the support from the 'Freedom' party, due to requiring the support of 500 MPs. The Freedom party will not allow this bill to pass. All parties must, from this point, be willing to submit a very large number of proposals. Once we have done this, we must call an early election, and use the increased coverage to increase our parliamentary numbers , so that we can then enact this constitutional change. We urge all parties to consider doing this so we might secure the 2/3rd majority necessary to allow genuine democracy to occur. |

| Message | Most or all (OOC: I forget) of the Coalition's Bills in the past few Assemblies have passed. This idea that we are blocking bills is laughable. We, the Freedom Party, alongside the National Federalist Party and Stanton House have formed a number of coalitions over the years each with their own legislative agenda which usually passes. We work together, make compromises and deliver strong leadership in the national interest. The idea that the three governing parties conspire to vote down non-coalition bills is beyond parody. In every Assembly all three governing parties explicitly have 'free' votes on non-coalition bills put forward. If they pass, they pass. If they don't, then that's the faulght of the author of the bill. After all, the Assembly is the representation of the people's will. So if a bill fails, that is clearly the will of the people. We never knew that the New Beluzian Movement had such contempt, not only for Democracy, but for the people of Beluzia themselves. |
