Message | If people can't agree on this kind of sensible reform, I fail to see how we can agree on anything. |

Message | My problem, a university president making 6 figures a year while his/her college charges extordinary fees and tuition to the students. Then again who is the government to tell you how much you can earn? |

Message | No, if you let's say own a company and have been responsible for making it successful, then you've earned whatever salary your shareholders will permit. You've taken all the risk of putting all your capital in your company (all your eggs in one basket so to speak) with a small chance of success. Hence, if successful, you should be richly rewarded. Obviously a government salary cap makes sense, but this is not about whether a government should impose a cap on its employees, but rather whether a salary cap is imposed on private companies: a subtlety with which we take issue. |

Message | To answer the United Alorian Party: We put it simply. See what quality of professors you'll get at the university pays less. As it is, most talent is lost to industry where they are paid far more; it is the love of teaching and the job freedom that makes people willing to accept a job with lower pay. By the way, I'm currently attending university - and all my professors are paid more or less 100.000. It is not ridiculous for a university president to get six-figures; I would say that half a million is a fair salary for a job with those demands. As universities tend to be publicly-funded though, the government has to use some judgment perhaps and tie funding to some kind of salary cap (a million USD seems reasonable). However, private companies fall under the scope of this bill - something which we can never support. |

Message | Salary caps are not there to limit salaries, but ensure salaries especially the executive salaries of large businesses are within a reasonable limit. |

Message | We support, as we don't see a good reason to support a salary cap on anyone. As long as equal opportunity is enforced, equal outcome doesn't have to happen. -Irene Lewis, Phillipsian Party Spokesperson for Finance |

Message | If the shareholders believe that you are worth millions of dollars, then so be it. Good luck getting a qualified CEO willing to work those kind of hours for less. Note that a CEO does not have a safe position; if conditions go south, then it may be difficult for them to find a job in the future. It is usually a job that only lasts a short-term before a forced retirement. They need to have some money in the bank to facilitate this. |

Message | Democracy must prevail, doing so is allowing the people whatever the may do, may they be rich or poor it is up to the people to decide. -Chairman of the Republic-Capitalism Party |
