JOINT STATEMENT: "Nuclear energy has been labeled as unstable, dangerous, and no benefit at all. However, that is no longer the truth and really never was. It was risky before but, the Science and Technology Ministry along with several private contractors have created technology to ensure safety and effectively minimize any risk of a meltdown or any danger. As well we have provided regulation along with this bill to double down on safety. Allowing passage of this bill help ensure energy independence for our nation, and reducing energy costs overall in the long term." -Prime Minister Mike Owens, Bill Lemon Environment & Tourism Minister, and Dr. Susan Oakley, Science and Technology Minister I.) Nuclear power plants must be at least 75 miles from cities/towns, and at least 50 miles from state protected land, historical moumnents, parks etc. II.) The Ministries of Science & Technology and Environment & Tourism will have regulation authority over nuclear power plants and their safey regulation III.) As part of extra safety step during the first 6 months of this program safety inspections will occur hi weekly, the next 6 months they will occur monthly. After the first year department will set saftey inspection regulation fully. |

Message | I actually can support this, but do the cost associated with it, I would probably only vote yes, if there was some kind of repeal on the renewable energy subsidies. There simply isn't an infinite pool of money and tax hikes will only crimp consumption and economic investment. |

Message | Wildrose , the subsides and tax relief I'll come out of my budget of S and T, we have enough money to do this without the need of increasing taxes.
