Message | The AAS must oppose. Charter schools fill an important niche between fully 'public' and fully 'private' education. |

Message | We disagree and beleive if the need for a school arises, there will be a private institution - or indeed a religious school - willing to fill the gap. |
Date | 05:26:12, December 30, 2005 CET | From | JLP Liberation Militia | To | Debating the Abolish Charter Schools |
Message | Private funding = private school. Public funding = public school. Why should public funding = (in essence) private school without cost? The JLP supports this proposal. |

Message | The AAS must object... most Charter schools are supported by (semi) private funding... since it often comes from religious groups, charitable organisations, or corporate interests. The AAS believes that, so long as schools so supported are NOT just being used as a source of revenue, they actually serve a very valuable role in our communities, by injecting cash into 'special interest' courses, for example... but without the added pricetag for the general public. |
