Bill: Child Labour Act 3672

Details

Submitted by[?]: Wolfpack

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 3672

Description[?]:

The ban on children working is symptomatic of our overly-cautious, politically correct approach to everything. Holding down a weekend job is character-forming for young people, giving them vital experience as well as allowing them to earn hard cash. So long as the work does not unduly impact upon their educational or social welfare, children and young people ought to be allowed to work.

MessageTo each his own, honourable Senators.

The youth of today must be exposed to hard work and we believe that this bill is a right step in the right direction. We want children who are capable of taling care of themselves and be useful members of Solentian society. We do not need "nannyed" children who are other mouths to feed.
