Message | Senetors, it seems that this brutal killing came as a direct result of ill conceived political propaganda. The words of some in this house have fuelled an atmosphere of fear and distrust, an ideal breeding ground for violent extremism, and these are the results that we are witnessing today. I ask this house today to send a clear message that we reject both them and their self confessed hatred. |

Message | We condemn the murder of Takeo Ishii, and we also condemn the laxity and irresponsibility of this elitist political government in making this travesty possible through under-funding the police and enforcing soft law and order policies. We further condemn the government for attempting to turn the tragic death of a young student into a political occasion by implying that ordinary working-class people like ourselves are somehow responsible for it. Does the arrogance of the political class and its hatred for the man-on-the-street know no ends? On an occasion like this we would obviously like to see consensus in the response of the political parties, but the attitude which underpins this motion regrettably makes it impossible for us to support. Message | "The Unionist Party condemns absolutely the brutal murder of Takeo Ishii and wishes to see a speedy and fair trial for his killer. However it would be inappropriate to make a political statement about this matter and we shall therefore abstain on this bill." Brenna Kyng, Government & Unionist Legislative Lead |

Message | We applaud the parties in the Senate which have refused to endorse this scurrilous and divisive motion. James Cholmondely Wolfpack Legislative Lead |

Message | Senators of this august body, hear me! Today, I call attention not on the murder of an immigrant but of the politicking and speculations that has came from it. It is true that Takeo Ishii has been murdered and there is the possibility that it is a hate crime. But let me repeat it, just a possibility!!! But the media and the government has decided that it is a hate crime all along by politicking the issue! Politics should'nt be made on the death of one person. Message | Senators, Vivienne Salve speaks wise words - and they deserve to be listened to. We also need to ask why so much attention is being brought to this case, of a white Solentian killing a Gao-Showan, when similar cases of white Solentians being murdered by Gao-Showans, Aslis and Majatrans are ignored every day by the media and the political class? There is a distinct bias going on. James Cholmondely Wolfpack Legislative Lead |
