Message | We do not believe a minority government would be viable and, hence, choose not to accept this proposal. |

Message | Correction: We do not believe endorsing a government with such a small majority would be viable or productive for the country. Also, the PdC supported the Conservative's candidate in the elections, mainly because of our belief that the priority issue is that devolution has gone too far and a stronger central government is needed - precisely to protect the liberties we cherish. It would be a betrayal to the mandate our voters have given us to support a government led by the UDT. |

Message | "It is a pity that the Partido do Centro has decided to join the ruling cartel of the Reactionary Anti-People's Party and the Gerontocratic Ex-Workers Party that have been consistently restricting the rights of the people throughout their term of office. However, the Tukarese Democratic Union has presented this proposal to show that their would have been an alternative with a viable majority, a majority which would have been just as big a the government's majority before the last election, and regret that the Partido do Centro has not taken the opportunity to finally provide this country with a government that acts in the interests of the people instead of against them." Luís Ribeiro, leader of the UDT/TDU parliamentary party |
Date | 08:39:44, June 02, 2014 CET | From | Conservative People's Party | To | Debating the Alternative Cabinet Proposal of June 3674 |
Message | "It's really funny that the only thing that the UDT can say about the CPP, the party that have leadered the cabinet since 3658, chosen by Tukarese people, is that we are Reactionary and Anti-People's Party. Meanwhile, we don't call the UDT socialst and communist, just to be respectful with a 32% of Tukarese people that voted the UDT in the last elections. So, I would recommend the UDT to start respecting other parties and they will start to keep them in mind". Tristão Ferreira, Chanceler of the República Democrática de Tukarali |
Date | 10:02:30, June 02, 2014 CET | From | União Democrática do Tukarali | To | Debating the Alternative Cabinet Proposal of June 3674 |
Message | "Throughtout its term of office, the CPP has, in concert with the fossilised so-called Democratic Workers Party, been consistently curbing civil rights and descrimnated against religious and non-religious minorities. It is only fair to describe those policies as reactionary or authoritarian and being against the interests of the people. To use the term 'Conservative', as the CPP ascribes to itself, would be a gross misrepresentation of true conservatism. True conservatism has the interest of the people at heart, it respects the rights of minorities and defends the interests of the people against an overbearing State. As things stand, the UDT/TDU has been the only truely conservative party in Tukarali for several decades. Maybe, if the CPP were to live up to its self-chosen name, it would be possible to bring this government onto a constructive, truely conservative and democratic, course." Luís Ribeiro. leader of the UDT/TDU Parliamentary Party |
Date | 20:20:48, June 02, 2014 CET | From | Partido do Centro | To | Debating the Alternative Cabinet Proposal of June 3674 |
Message | "It is precisely against this kind of politics that the PdC has emerged. This divisive, name-calling, manicheian brand of politics, in which one party demonizes another. We ally ourselves to ideas, not to parties, standing for moderation, democracy and freedom. At this moment, we believe that Tukarali has become too much of a hodgepodge of conflicting regulations among the regions - regulations which are often more authoritarian than whatever the Assembleia Nacional can churn out. We believe the CPP, today, is the party to lead these efforts, standing for a stronger central government, which effectively guarantees the rights of the people - even if we believe a more moderate stance on issues of civil rights and religious freedom would be advisable. We recognize that all parties have the nation's best interests at heart, even if they are, at times, misguided in their efforts." Carlo de la Cerda, spokesman for the PdoC |
