Description[?]:
In my Fairfax constituency, there are representatives of many faiths and cultures living together in harmony. It is agreed by the majority of those I have spoken to that the need to register activity - such as evangelism and advertising of their faith - with the central government. If we are to be a state that is serious about equality and religious freedom then how can we restrain the rights of those whose faith tells them to share their beliefs? I am not suggesting that we are allowing religious extremism, we are simply removing the shackles that bind honest hardworking faith filled citizens who long to allow their faith to be shown as a daily practice to those around them. I commend this act to the house for debate and - I hope - eventual passing. - Sarojini Kumal MRDK for Fairfax West Leader of the Orange Alliance |

Message | Religious extremism is exactly one reason for the current government policy on this issue. There has been done much harm to civil societies as well as whole nations by people of any faith who used it and their rights to cause nothing but grief and unrest. Besides that, we do not believe that this policy in any way restricts the average religious person in practising its faith, which is the reason why we can not accept your argument that religious citizens suffer from inequality. |
