Message | The literal proposal is fine, and we might well have voted for it, had it only been introduced unadorned. By contrast, the textual title and description are deeply unsettling indeed, and they turn us from an aye into a nay on this. |

Message | Maybe I phrased it wrong? Plenty of traditional societies and religions had rituals for adulthood, what kind of "test" were you thinking? Perhaps you got confused and thought I was saying " first beer" and "first sex" was okay? I was implying those were stupid with the phrase "many without substance" and assuming you had the common sense to distinguish between which of the three was wrong... |

Message | As there are privaleges conected to 'adulthood', like: ・Honor to serve in military ・Purchase and consumption of alcoholic beverages/tobbacco ・Less restrictive Labour laws ・Compulsory education ・Gun possesion ・Marriage ・Ability to Vote the complications of implementing the rituals would be disasterous. Age, maybe not the best factor , but doesn't require additional institution to conduct tests. Additionally passing this law might make many of ratified treaties null, or rather it won't have legal power in the first place. |
