MessageMr. Speaker,

Does Rick Hobbs prefer the current situation? We are simply returning to the situation that existed before the PPFD-led coalition caused our GDP to fall by 20,000,000,000 LOD.

And what official record is Rick Hobbs talking about? He could "register" his disapproval in the Presidium, if he was a Member, but he isn't. He could register his disapproval in the media, but it is illegal to do so. Please tell him to register his disapproval in his little diary.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We prefer a balanced approach. This legislation does nothing but cut jobs and create economic losses, higher corporate taxes mean less jobs and higher sales taxes mean less goods sold. It is rather simple economics. We support the GNRG's efforts, but not the means of this legislation. Our main concern is with the increase in corporation taxes.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We need these taxes to be able to afford our large budget, which the Conservatives claimed to approve. When the sales tax rates were cut under the PPFD-led coalition, Consumption per capita increased only marginally, to facilitate much larger cuts in government spending, resulting in a huge chunk of the GDP disappearing.

The PPFD-led coalition cut revenue by over 200 LOD per capita, and cut government spending by over 200 LOD per capita. You would expect Consumption to have increased by at least 180 LOD per capita, but it increased by less than 50 LOD per capita. When the consumers have this money they don't spend it. When the government has this money, the government spends it. The government spending benefits the people and the private sector companies that are contracted to provide those services that benefit the people. It has been proven, through statistics, that the people don't spend this money on their own.

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, it is the responsibility of players to ensure the candidate boxes on their Party Overview screens are filled in with appropriate names. If a player is allotted seats in a Cabinet bill and has not filled in names for the relevant candidate position, then the program will automatically fill in the positions with names which might not necessarily be appropriate for the Cultural Protocols.
