Bill: Motion to Impeach Francis Schneider

Details

Submitted by[?]: Urban Party of Rutania

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 3680

Description[?]:

Members of the Parliament,

The UPR submits this motion of impeachment against the President on the grounds of misusing power. We are prepared to submit this bill if and only if Executive Order VIII is not withdrawn from the books. However, we want to make certain that we will still take the administration to the Supreme Court if need be and then impeach the President after that.

That being said, If the President can provide and a clear reason behind his recent actions, we will withdraw our motion.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We agree as well that this executive order should be removed, but we also think that it should not be taken as far as the UPR is proclaiming it to be.

MessageMr. Speaker,

I rise today to speak against this reactionary move by the UPR. An executive order was implemented by the President. The UPR has expressed their disapproval. There is currently a motion to override this order as allowed for by the laws of Rutania. Should that fail, and it very well may, the UPR can find redress in the courts. This impeachment speaks more of politics than the rule of law and will not be supported by our party.

MessageMr. Speaker,

A motion to impeach the President is brash and extreme. The president has not denied any rights or been the focus of corruption scandals. The President has served our nation with distinction and Solidarity is proud of his record.

Issuing an executive order that breaches the authority of the President is not a cause for impeachment. The President and Solidarity stand by Executive Order VIII that addresses the requests issued by the Bozarland government.

If those who oppose Executive Order VIII wish to bring a constitutional challenge to EOVIII, that is within their rights and the order shall be a manner before the courts. Solidarity and President Schneider will respect any ruling brought down by the courts.

I would like to formally apologize for my overreaction to the proposed Executive Order. We will remove tyis motion from the floor and seek justice through the courts.
