Bill: Safety on the Streets

Details

Submitted by[?]: Telamon Social Democratic Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 2164

Description[?]:

The current legislation allows carrying concealed weapons in public places. This practice easily contributes to escalation of violence when it arises, and increases the likelihood of violence arsing in the first place. Using potentially lethal power should be (and according to legislation is) a monopoly of the state. The current practice which allows for carrying concealed weapons effectively erodes and undermines that monopoly by increasing public feeling of unsafety due to increase in violent incidents and the increased gravity of their consequences, both of which can be attributed in part to the carrying of concealed weapons in public.

By forbidding carrying concealed weapons in public we can contribute to the public sense of security as well as enforce the rule of law as a means of solving conflicts between citizens.
